Work with Julie

  • PRE-PUPPY CONSULTS

New puppy on the way? I can help set you up for success! Let’s talk strategy - crate training, potty schedules, sleeping through the night, house manners, integrating with other dogs and kids and more. It will make the first weeks so much easier.

  • PRIVATE LESSONS

Looking for some personalized one-on-one help? Sometimes a group class just isn’t the right fit. A private lesson with me will allow us to focus on exactly what you and your dog need. I can help you build a plan around your specific goals and help you with an individualized training plan.

  • VIRTUAL CALLS

Can’t meet in person, or just prefer to start from the comfort of home? Virtual consults let us work through training questions, behavioral concerns, or a customized training plan for your dog - all over video call. Great for troubleshooting specific issues, getting expert guidance before you bring a puppy home, or staying on track between in-person sessions.

  • BOARD AND TRAIN

Want a head start on training without doing all of the day-to-day work yourself? With a board and train, your dog stays with me for training in a structured, in-home, family setting. Once we’re done, we’ll do a session together so you’ll know exactly how to maintain and keep the training going.

  • PRIVATE BOARDING

I offer in-home, family style boarding for approved clients. Your dog will stay with me, in my home in a comfortable and personalized boarding experience. If you’re looking for something outside of a traditional kennel setting, I may be able to help!

  • GROUP CLASSES

You can also get group training with me as your instructor at Puppy Manners Family Dog School on Wednesday and Friday mornings. Visit Puppy Manners to check class availability. Offering beginner puppy classes all the way up to advanced leash skills.

“Julie truly cares about both the dogs and their families, and it shows in everything she does. Fjord absolutely loves her, and we are so grateful for everything she's done for us. We couldn't recommend Julie more highly, she is truly an exceptional dog trainer!!”

“To limit the number of stars to only 5 is a travesty. Julie at Puppy Pawtential is truly excellent at what they do, and if you have a dog that you cherish and want to be treated the way you treat your pup, look no further. Puppy Pawtential is the epitome of what a small, family run business looks like. Hands on genuine care, strong experience and expertise, and unparalleled warmth and love toward your pet. For my partner and I, we were adamant about finding a trustworthy and qualified trainer to help us raise our very first dog, Dutch. We followed recommendations from our breeder, and came across Julie with Puppy Pawtential; and thank God we did.”

—Tara N.

“Before we brought our sweet girl home I had Julie come over to give us tips and tricks to set us off on the right foot. She was so helpful and put my mind at ease... She continued to be so helpful after Raya arrived, coming by in person as well as being available for questions via text. I can’t thank Julie enough for being so awesome and helpful.”

— Kate W.

“Julie is a top-tier dog trainer. I asked her for help with a specific unwanted behavior we were seeing in our new rescue dog. She taught me clear steps to work on fixing this behavior which worked initially for our dog. But even when he regressed after a week, Julie kept working with us to troubleshoot the issue. Now we have consistently seen a huge change in the behavior we wanted to fix and can say we are living our best lives with our sweet little rescue dog. We are so grateful for Julie's expertise!”

— Annemarie m.

“Monkey has been a challenge for me, but he’s also my dog-child and I trust Julie completely with him. She helped us with his initial puppy training and has continued working with him through overnight visits. He’s stayed with her for over 10 days at a time, and I know he’s in the best hands which makes leaving him a little bit easier. Not only does she train him, he thrives with her…truly living his best life! She treats him like family: river trips, long walks, playtime with her kids…he even sleeps in her bed and enjoys movie nights with popcorn! Knowing he’s not just safe but loved just like at home is the best feeling. I can’t recommend Julie enough!”

FAQ’S

How much does dog training cost? Pricing depends on the service, but cost varies from $50 for a virtual consult all the way up to several thousand for a board and train - with everything in between. Reach out and let me help you find the right training path that fits your needs!

What age should I start training my puppy? The earlier the better! I start helping people train puppies the second they bring them home. With that said, it’s never too late! I work with dogs of all ages and am happy to meet you and your dog at whatever stage you are in.

Do you offer in-home dog training in Seattle and the Eastside? Yes, I offer in-home private lessons throughout Seattle and the greater Eastside, including Redmond, Bellevue, Sammamish, Issaquah, Woodinville and surrounding areas.

What is the difference between private lessons and a board and train? Private lessons are one on one sessions where you’re an active participant every step of the way. I help YOU train your dog. A board and train is more immersive - your dog stays with me for an extended stay with focused, structured daily training. Afterward, we have a handoff lesson to show you what your dog knows and how to maintain and continue training with your dog.

Do you use positive reinforcement methods? Yes! I always use positive reinforcement as a main component of every training plan. I combine that with clear communication and consistency, providing balance and trust to every dog I work with.
